It was a cold and windy morning in Richmond, VA but that didn’t stop Cheryl Hile and her team of runners from hitting the pavement in the name of MS. The Run a Mylen My Shoes team gathered Saturday, November 16th to take part in the Richmond Marathon and raise money for National MS Society.
The team, 280 strong, boasts 124 members living with MS. It was founded by Cheryl Hile, an avid runner with MS who has been determined not to let her diagnosis stop her from participating in the activities she enjoys.
With help from Hanger and Thuasne USA, Hile is able to run using the SpryStep Flex, an Ankle Foot Orthotic from the SpryStep range engineered with greater flexibility for the most active patients.
Hile is the only person with MS to run a marathon on all seven continents and she’s helping people like her take charge of their mobility through support and medical solutions like the SpryStep.
Hile and her teammates Koreen Fox and Ellie Tillotson all completed the 26.2-mile run wearing SpryStep Flex braces. Heather Goodrich completed the 8K wearing two SpryStep Flex braces. custom made in her favorite color, pink.
The team was able to raise over $11,000 for the National MS Society. See the photo gallery for shots of the Run a Mylen My Shoes team dinner and images from the race.
