She’s the first person with MS to run a marathon on all seven continents and now Cheryl Hile is hitting the pavement again to raise money for the fight against multiple sclerosis. She and her team, Run a Myelin My Shoes (RAMMS), will be competing in the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon on November 6th. This is the first year Hile will be back running in person after sending the 2020 RAMMS Team into the virtual sphere.
While COVID-19 kept runners in quarantine, hundreds from around the world still did their best to support Hile in a safe and socially distant way. 2020 turned out to be big year for RAMMS and Thuasne USA was glad to help.
“We didn’t want to lose momentum behind RAMMS just because of the pandemic.” says Thuasne USA Senior VP of Marketing & R/D John Martin. “We wanted to do something fun at our offices that would be safe, socially distant and engaging for our staff.”
While Thuasne USA held a 5K Run and 1K Walk on the campus of their Bakersfield, CA facility, members of the Thuasne Group ran, walked, rode horses, biked and more across Europe. The efforts were such a success Thuasne USA and The Thuasne Group plan to host their at-home events again in 2021 and have representatives on the ground in Indianapolis to cheer Hile and the team on in person.
Hile lives with MS, suffers from footdrop, and wears a custom SpryStep ankle foot orthosis to run. It was her input and the collaboration of her Hanger clinician that led to the development of Thuasne USA’s SpryStep Flex. Product Manager Fraser Allan is excited to join Hile again in person and see the RAMMS crew in action.
“It was so inspiring to see everyone rally in 2020 from their homes around the world, this year we are upping the ante and I cannot wait to see Cheryl hit the street in Indianapolis with her team by her side.” For more information on Hile and RAMMS or to make a donation CLICK HERE
